Preservation Worcester’s 2018-2019 Docent Training Course is coming up in September.

Focusing on Worcester history and architecture, the course teaches participants how to use architectural styles to “read” the city’s streetscapes, how to research a historic building or neighborhood, and how to create an illustrated presentation or walking tour.

Classes meet once a week on ten consecutive weeks from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Preservation Worcester headquarters, 10 Cedar Street, Worcester. First semester classes will begin the week of September 10th and end the week of November12th. The day of the week for the class will be chosen based upon the availability of participants.

The second semester will be devoted to research and the creation of a class project.  The class will meet once a month January through May as participants work on their projects.

The cost of books for the course should not exceed $75.00.  There is no class fee, but participants are expected to make a two-year docent commitment to Preservation Worcester.

Applications are accepted on a first-come/first-served basis.  Class size is limited to 20.
