Grant Received from the Nathanial Wheeler Trust - December 2010

Thanks to a grant from the Nathaniel Wheeler Trust, the hard work of the Crown Hill Neighborhood Association and prep work by inmates from the Worcester County House of Correction, PW’s John and Frannie Herron Park has new plants and looks wonderful. We hope you will stop by and visit the Park, which is located on the corner of Crown and Chatham streets.

The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts receives 2010 National Preservation Honor Award - October 2010

The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts is a recipient of a National Trust for Historic Preservation 2010 National Preservation Honor Award.  Each year, the National Trust celebrates the best of preservation by bestowing awards upon individuals, nonprofit organizations, public agencies and corporations whose “contributions represent singular success in preserving, rehabilitating, or interpreting America’s architectural and cultural heritage.”  Co-recipients of the award include Michael Pagano, Lamoureux Pagano Associates, Architects; Deborah Packard, Preservation Worcester; Frederick Eppinger, Hanover Insurance Group; Paul Demoga; Edward P. Madaus; Mary C. DeFeudis; Stephen Killian, Barr & Barr, Inc.; Rodney White, Whipple Construction; and David Forsberg, Worcester Business Development Corporation.  The award was presented during the National Trust’s 2010 National Preservation Conference in Austin, Texas.  Preservation Worcester nominated the Hanover for the award and congratulates The Theatre, the co-recipients and the city of Worcester for the prestigious designation.

Unveiling of the Restored Street Clock on Front Street - June 13, 2007

 

 

 

The Street Clock appeared on Preservation Worcester’s 2006 Most Endangered Structures List. The restoration was a collaborative effort between Preservation Worcester, the Worcester Cultural Commission and the George F. and Sybil H. Fuller Foundation.

 

10 Cedar Street houses the headquarters of Preservation Worcester

This building is a perfect example of PW's mission at work. 10 Cedar Street was donated to PW and was restored with the help of a Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund grant.
