About the Event

Our third Off Limits Tour of the year offers a rare chance to step inside the Whitcomb House, built in 1879–80 and later home to the Memorial Foundation for the Blind and Quaker Special Risk Insurance.

This special tour showcases the striking three-story granite High Victorian mansion at the corner of Harvard and Highland Streets. One of the few residences designed by Stephen Earle, it features a picturesque roofline with numerous shingled dormers. Vacant since 2019, the house is opening its doors for a limited time—don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience a long-closed historic property up close.

Tours begin at Salisbury House located at 61 Harvard Street. During this exclusive experience, you’ll discover the architectural details, hidden features, and rich history that make this building and room true Worcester landmarks. At the conclusion of each tour, guests will have the opportunity to speak with a representative of the owner…
