Historic Marker Program

Worcester has a rich collection of historic structures and neighborhoods. Preservation Worcester invites you to celebrate that heritage through our Historic Marker Program. Show pride in and share the history of your home or building by purchasing a custom-made historic building marker.

Does My Property Qualify?

Historic Markers are awarded to structures at least fifty years of age, that retain their original character, are in a good state of preservation, and contribute to the architectural, cultural, or historical nature of their neighborhood. Eligibility will be based on the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.

Preservation Worcester reserves the right
to reject any application.

Process and Fees

• Complete and submit the application for review
• Receive notification of qualification
• Remit Marker Fee

Members - $185
Non-members - $225 (includes PW membership)

Preservation Worcester will replace markers awarded by the Worcester Heritage Society at the cost of $150.
