About the Event

Join paranormal investigator and social historian, Dr. Joanna MacGugan, as she takes participants on a spirited investigation of Preservation Worcester’s headquarters – Salisbury House built in 1838.  Dr. MacGugan earned a Ph.D. in medieval studies and published her first book, "Social Memory, Reputation and the Politics of Death in the Medieval Irish Lordship," focused on coroners and capital punishment in 14th-century Ireland, in 2023. For the past 13 years, she has investigated haunted locations throughout the US and the UK, seeking the historical truth behind the hauntings. Highlights of her paranormal adventures include the Conjuring House in Burrillville, Rhode Island; Belle Grove Plantation in Port Conway, Virginia; and Shepton Mallet Prison in Warwickshire, England. Dr. MacGugan is currently writing a history of the haunted Oliver House in Middleborough, Massachusetts.
