"Worcester— A Retrospect" Print by Rosalind Sturges Allen
"Worcester —A Retrospect" presents a fascinating panorama of the city's architectural heritage from the 18th and 19th centuries, together with more recent buildings. In 1977, Preservation Worcester, then called the Worcester Heritage Preservation Society, undertook a survey of the city's significant buildings and districts to photograph and document 1,000 buildings and list 650 in the National Register of Historic Places. To celebrate this project, the Worcester Heritage Preservation Society worked with artist Rosalind H. Sturges Allen to develop this piece of art, depicting many architectural landmarks of Worcester, from the Worcester Art Museum and the American Antiquarian Society, to City Hall and Mechanics Hall, to the universities and countless historic homes.
A key to the buildings depicted in the print will be included with a purchase.
